W&N

To quit individuality, plays an important role in the work of collaborative duo W&N. Through multidisciplinary and “inadequate” techniques, they avoid the naturalization of everyday objects, transforming them, from mostly didactic, to just playful and absurd ideas of perception. The non-metaphorical representation of dichotomies is performed through caricature-like depictions, workshops, paintings, shop droppings, sculpture, photography, collage, printing, public interventions, and banners. As a desperate measure, their work attempts an inalterable search to find lost memories of infancy. Investigating their own sense of violence, immorality, hypocrisy and jealousy, W&N demystify the individual genius, while discovering how artists have an “unbreakable confidence in the possibility of dominating the world” through narcissism.
